1st Glorious Mystery: The Resurrection
Fruit: Faith
Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone, and sat upon it. His appearance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid; for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. Lo, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples.
2nd Glorious Mystery: The Ascension
Fruit: Hope
Now He led them out toward Bethany. And He lifted up His hands and blessed them, saying, “All power in Heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. And teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. He who believes and is baptized shall be saved. But he who does not believe shall be condemned. And behold, I am with you all days, even unto the consummation of the world.”
And as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Je-sus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
3rd Glorious Mystery: The Descent of the Holy Ghost
Fruit: Love of God
When the days of Pentecost were drawing to a close, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a violent wind blowing. And there appeared to them parted tongues as of fire, which settled upon each of them. And they were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak of the wonderful works of God. Now there were staying in Jerusalem devout Jews from every nation under heaven. And Peter, standing up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and spoke to them, saying: “Repent and be baptized, and you will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.” Now they who received his word were baptized and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
4th Glorious Mystery: The Assumption
Fruit: Grace of a Happy Death
Blessed art thou, O daughter, by the Lord the most high God, above all women on earth. For He has so magnified thy name this day, that thy praise shall not depart out of the mouths of men. In every nation which shall hear thy name, the God of Israel shall be magnified on occasion of thee.
Thou art the glory of Jerusalem, thou art the joy of Israel, thou art the honour of our people.
Hear, O daughter, and see; turn your ear, for the king shall desire your beauty.
And the temple of God in heaven was opened, and there came flashes of lightning, and peals of thunder. And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun. And the moon was under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars.
All glorious is the king’s daughter as she enters; her raiment is threaded with spun gold.
Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done wondrous deeds.
5th Glorious Mystery: The Coronation of Our Lady
Fruit: Trust in Mary’s Intercession
Who is this that comes forth like the dawn, as beautiful as the moon, as resplendent as the sun?
Like the rainbow appearing in the cloudy sky; like the blossoms on the branches in springtime.
I am the mother of fair love, and of fear, and of knowledge, and of holy hope. In me is all grace of the way and of truth, in me is all hope of life and of virtue. Come to me, all you that yearn for me, and be filled with my fruits. You will remember me as sweeter than honey, better to have than the honeycomb.
So now, children, listen to me; instruction and wisdom do not reject! Happy are those who keep my ways, watching daily at my gates. For he who finds me finds life, and wins favour from the Lord.
Hail, O Queen of Mercy, protect us from the enemy, and receive us at the hour of death.
