It is a public act of penance, reparation, and witness, undertaken for the glory of God and the honour of His Church: to walk to a sacred place, offering prayer and sacrifice along the way. The Christus Rex Pilgrimage is a 90km walk from Ballarat to Bendigo, held annually on the feast of Christ the King. Pilgrims walk through the towns and countryside of Victoria, praying, singing, and bearing witness to the Kingship of Christ. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, when the Church especially encourages pilgrimages as acts of grace and renewal, there is no better time to walk the Christus Rex Pilgrimage, whether it’s your first time or your return after many years.
